The PhD program in social work is a research-based program that emphasizes the production of original and significant scholarship. Coursework for the PhD commences in May (the spring semester) and is completed over five consecutive semesters. The coursework period includes two spring semester residencies (which students must attend full-time on the St. John’s campus), as well as a fall reading course, and an internship, both of which can be done in students’ home communities. |
